Current motorsport coaching activities
Jono is currently working with drivers in a motorsport coaching capacity across a number of categories including:
- FIA F4J (Japan F4): trackside coaching through the 2026 season, supporting the SUPER GT calendar
- Eighty-Six Challenge, with TOM’S Racing Thailand: team & academy coach through 2027 with 3-4 cars
- GT4: driver coaching and driver placement across South-East Asia and the UAE
Why train with Jono
Coaching runs in the family. Jono‘s a third-generation racing driver, son of respected coach Richard Lester. Richard’s drivers have gone on to Formula 1, V8 Supercars, the British Touring Car Championship and many others.
Jono’s close to 400 race starts across a 22-year career in GT and touring cars, scoring race wins and podiums in SUPER GT, GT World Challenge Asia, GT Asia, Lamborghini Super Trofeo Asia, Super Taikyu, Australian GT, Porsche Carrera Cups, Thailand Super Series, Asian Le Mans Series, TCR, the Toyota Racing Series (CTFROC) and NZ Endurance.
