I recently had the opportunity to sample Thailand’s most unique GT car, the PSC Motorsport Hondaghini.
Based on the Lamborghini Super Trofeo platform, this machine has had an engine transplant with a Honda K20C turbo, active DRS enabled, removal of Traction Control and a bespoke GT3-inspired front end aero setup.
After winning the Idemitsu 12 Hour Endurance race at Chang in December (running in full BoP trim) the next objective was Thailand’s first Time Attack event at Bira Circuit.
I was pleasantly surprised with the performance of the car in my initial laps, and it only got better as we developed the vehicle setup feeling.
Unfortunately, the ultimate sub-60 second lap target was unable to be achieved, with turbo issues on a baking hot race day causing persistent loss of boost pressure, even in low power maps.
So, rather than the full 630hp+ we had in our pocket, we managed with a 450hp tune and no DRS for the event, clocking in at a 61.8sec lap.
This secured PSC Motorsport the event will, but with the ultimate objective still out of reach, we’ll be back soon to chase the target lap time when the car is running without issues.
I had a fantastic time driving this car, particularly without the intervention of TC traction control taking me back to the old days of having to drive in a more analogue fashion.
