Hi, I’m Jono. I am a proud Kiwi, and the third generation of my family to compete in motorsport following my grandfather, father and aunt before me.

Since age 13 I have been at the wheel, with over a decade of GT3 experience driving Porsches, Ferraris, Mercedes-AMG, McLarens and Lamborghinis.

I have established my career in Asia – particularly in Japan & China – where I am forging a career in the illustrious Japanese Super GT series among other events throughout the region, totally 25-30 races each year.

Rob & Wendy Lester, Jono’s grandparents, were behind the build and ongoing management of the Manfeild circuit for over 30 years.

In addition to his Presidency of the NZ Automobile Association (AA), Vice Presidency of MotorSport New Zealand, Member d’Honeur of St. John and awarding of the New Zealand Order of Merit (MBE), Rob was also a 3x time National champion driver and recipient of the prestigious Jim Clark Trophy.

Jono’s father Richard and aunt Debbie were also National champion drivers, and each a recipient of the prestigious Steel Trophy for NZ’s top young driver.

Richard’s career as a driving coach & team manager was influential in the careers of Stephane Ortelli, Luciano Burti, Greg Murphy & more.

Richard also founded the famous Shell Scholarship programme for young New Zealand driving talents, and later in his career headed the PETRONAS driver development programme, out of Malaysia, for over a decade.
